Australia is a great industrial country, capable of producing any up to date product. The Australian subsoil is extremely rich, all kinds of minerals are extracted : uranium, iron, coal, silver, copper, natural gas, petrol. And near Kalgoorlie gold is mined in industrial quantities (Australia is the 3rd largest gold producer in the world). 26% of the working population work in these sectors and contribute 35% of the GNP. Australia is the world leader in the production of bauxite and diamonds, 2nd in zinc and 3rd in iron. There are huge reserves of gas and petrol. Le sous-sol australien est très riche, on en extrait toutes sortes de minerais : uranium, fer, charbon, argent, cuivre, gaz naturel, pétrole. Et près de Kalgoorlie de l’or en quantité industrielle (l’Australie est le troisième producteur d’or du monde). Ces secteurs occupent près de 26% de la population active et contribuent pour 35% du PNB. Par sa production de bauxite et de diamants, l’Australie se place au 1er rang mondial,.au 2ème rang pour le zinc et au 3ème rang pour le fer. Les réserves de gaz et de pétrole sont considérables.
