- Hotels & restaurants
There are any number of hotels and restaurants
in Belgium, of all different categories. The prices
tend to be quite high (particularly in
Brussels).
The hotels are usually very comfortable.
The food is very good in Belgium, Belgians are
hearty eaters so it tends to be copious and of a
very high standard. Specialities : the famous
mussels and chips, really delicious, Waterzooi
(waterfowl and vegetables in a creamy sauce),
carbonade (a stew cooked in beer), eel, game from
the Ardennes...
Belgian chocolates are considered to be the best in
the world.
Don't forget to try at least some of the
innumerable beers (at least 400 different brands)
!
