- Could you please introduce your company:
PETITS-FILS is a high end home services company, specialized in caring old people. The company was set up by Damien TIXIER and Pierre GAUTHEY, graduated from the EDHEC Business School, one of the 5 leading French business schools, and Jean-Pierre JOSEPH, who used to run retirement houses for 15 years and has specialized for the last 20 years in geriatrics. Our objectives are to bring comfort services to autonomous people and to help dependant people staying home.

- What kind of services do you offer?
We offer 4 types of services.

  • Daily care services : life auxiliary

Comfort or real alternative to a retirement home, this service is assistance in daily life acts. Life auxiliary service includes every services to help old people, dependant or not, who need or simply want some help to accomplish some of their daily acts: shopping, cooking, accompaniment to walk, help having a wash and hygiene…

  • Administrative Assistance : personal assistant

Help dealing with « papers »: bills, correspondences, administrative procedures…, including processing and tiding documents.

  • Handyman and house upkeep

Includes all type of manual works like fixing, assembling and repairing furniture, fixing shelves, changing a plug, a bulb or a socket, adjusting TV etc.

  • Services made to measure

For specific needs or uncommon demands, either accompanying a person to the train station or driving her or his car to a holiday’s house, a made to measure solution to every situation.


- In which region are your services available? Our services are available in Paris area with a particularly strong presence in the western arrondissement of Paris and the western suburbs.

- What is your typical customer’s profile? French speaking or international? Currently our customers are exclusively French speaking. However some of our people speak foreign languages, especially English, so we are perfectly able to answer demands from international customers.

- Are your services suitable for companies or for individuals? Our services are exclusively aimed at individuals. Our Quality Approval for home services allows us to make our customers beneficiate from a tax reduction for 50% of the bill.

- How do you see the evolution of your business? The market of home services is professionalizing. After having been reserved to the associations for many years, help to old people is now led by private companies witch bring management methods and concepts of customer satisfactions, quality control, or cost rationalization. The sector is also getting more controlled and regulated. We have a Quality Approval delivered by the prefecture and we work with life auxiliary who are graduated from a diploma recognized by the State. This diploma makes us sure that they followed a several months education in caring hold and dependant people.

However, the euphoric development of home services market leads to multiplication of people care companies, and not all of them are serious. So it is important to choose one’s service provider very carefully and to demand the Quality Approval.


- What are your trump cards on your competitors?
First of all we differentiate ourselves with a higher quality of service. This quality manifests itself through an extremely selective recruitment of our employees, the availability of our counselors, a truly individualized service, and a systematical control of the quality of our services and of our customer’s satisfaction. We also consider as very important the satisfaction of our employees which guaranty the quality of their work.


Through our approach we want to make age less dramatic and to enhance old people.

Our approach is stimulating and we try to establish a relationship based on trust: “the competence of a professional, the spirit of a family”.

Then, we distinguish our self by a rational management. Our all organization is turned to efficiency and our customers benefit from it.

- Do foreign customers represent an interest for you? Every family from any nationality feels concerned about great age and dependence. As some of our employees speak foreign languages, our criterion is more geographic than linguistic. Therefore, our services are aimed at French and foreign people who live in Paris area.

Do you have a special offer or service for expatriates? For expatriates who have their parents living in France, considering the distance, we insist particularly in relationship following and reporting. As they cannot visit their parents themselves, expatriates want to be kept in touch of everything that concerns their parent’s health and our services. When people entrust us with their family, they must feel totally confident.

- Are you attached to a national or international company? No we are not but we plan to develop our own national brand.

- What is the size of your network today? So far we propose our services in Paris and its suburbs but we are currently working on a project of developing our activity in some cities of south of France in a few month.
