For French students studying in Belgium the
French baccalaureat is organized in Brussels.
The Belgian schooling system is very similar to the
French one with 6 years primary schooling and 6
years secondary. After final exams students receive
a certificate of aptitude for higher studies which
is valid also for university in France or other
European countries.
In Brussels if you are studying in French you are
obliged to study Flemish as your main foreign
language and vice versa.
Higher studies :
University inscription fees for Belgian
residents are approx. 25,000 FB per annum.
Up until his 21st birthday a French student can be
registered on his parents' health and welfare
benefits. He must be registered himself within 6
months after his birthday and have a complementary
insurance.
